My Secret Experiment! (BLOG #26)

He’d been o.k.’d for methotrexate but decided to try our protocol. For quite a while it wasn’t working. But he refused to give up. And after a few months his skin started to clear. Slowly. But surely.

As you know, about that time, I had that relatively small flare caused by a laundry detergent residue. So I thought, hmm, this might be the perfect time for me to do one of my lab rat experiments (on myself–the perfect lab rat ????)

See, I may not have a degree in biology, nor am I a medical research person, but I’m also not just working in a lab with petri dishes–I have the disease called psoriasis. And I can SEE when something works–or doesn’t.

As I’d already cleared myself in 6 weeks two times (once in 2014 and again a few years later when I found out about fortified calcium), I figured I had nothing to lose with my little experiment.

I went back onto high dose D3 BUT I ate a little dairy about once a week–an ice cream cone here, a little sour cream there. Not a lot. And not very often.

Two weeks ago (after 5 MONTHS!!! battling the small flare) I stopped all dairy. And, guess what? My skin is clearing nicely–and QUICKLY!

So, the photo, is from today. Don’t be fooled by most of the spots. They’re freckles–the Celtic curse ☹️ . I’m guessing my skin will be clear in about 10 days or so.

I realize how much of a pain in the ass I can be about dairy but I don’t need any more evidence. It was really frustrating to see how slowly my skin healed. But I’m stubborn and I wanted to give this experiment some time. It took way longer than expected.

I will now remove myself from the soapbox ????.

Through all this I actually missed my 5 year anniversary ???????????????????? of being virtually clear of this disease that made my life a misery for so many decades. I will not be celebrating with ice cream.
