Well, I think it would be fair to say that this past year has been a bitch and a half. But me and the mutt (Lucky) are still standing.
Some good news on vitamin D. Health Canada, at the beginning of November, upped the maximum pill/capsule/soft gel/drops from 1000 iu to 2500 iu. This makes it a little easier to get to high dose. I wish it was 5,000 iu but as my mother used to say “if wishes were horses, beggars would ride”.
I’ve been using the New Roots drops. K2mk7 has gotten easier to find than a few years ago. And the dairy substitutes are tasting better and better. La Riviera has a raspberry kefir which is quite delicious. I always add a squirt of lemon juice to dairy-free yogurt and kefir–it tastes closer to the ‘real thing’–has that ‘bite’.
I’ve been listening to a Dr. John Campbell who does regular youtube blogs about Covid. He interviewed a Dr. Cohen from Israel last week about the efficacy of vitamin D and zinc for Covid. I’ve been squawking about D3 and Covid for the past couple of years so it was nice to hear two doctors agreeing with me.😆 It’s worth watching.
Oh, and this is some surprising information. I was reading on another psoriasis site a post from this guy who was taking 60,000 iu of D3 daily and had been doing so for over three years with no ill effects. Now, I’m certainly not recommending you do that but it does put some of my concerns to rest. He gets tested regularly.
I’ve been keeping to a maintenance dosage of 10,000 iu D3 daily and 120 micrograms (mcg) of k2mk7. Still using magnesium chloride topically and still avoiding dairy (except for minor slip-ups). And my skin is doing very well. Over seven years now. Hard to believe. But wonderful.
