Glycerin….another little bit of magic for the skin

My bathroom is where I keep the arsenal of psoriasis creams, jells, medications, experiments etc. Easier to find when it’s all in one location. So, yesterday I was doing a bit of tidying up and I found my container of glycerin. How could I have forgotten?….well, life has been a little hectic to say the least…..

Glycerin is fantastic stuff for those of us who suffer from this skin condition. Unfortunately I can’t give you a link to the NPF Inspire site as I have been permanently banned for being a bad girl (which would include spreading the word about a natural remedy which doesn’t cost an arm and a leg and that has no side effects–that would be k2, D3, Magnesium Chloride, No dairy).

Anyway, there was a guy who wrote a very good thread about glycerin with lots of information (it might have been entitled “the Glycerin Hypothesis”) Suffice to say, it is one of the best things you can use on your skin. Now, it can be a bit sticky if you don’t dilute it with a little water. I put a small dollop of the glycerin on the palm of my hand, then add a little water, then rub my palms together and spread it on one part of my body. With the added water, it spreads much more easily. Then I move on to another part of my body. Anyway, I’m back to using it daily.

And then yesterday I was out walking the dog on a lovely sunny day in Vancouver and I thought it might be nice to have a coffee at Benny’s Bagels so I ordered the coffee and a sun dried tomato bagel. The gal asked me if I wanted butter or cream cheese and I said cream cheese and when I took the first bite I suddenly remembered that cream cheese is cheese is bloody DAIRY.

So, now I have a dilemma. Do I eat the bagel plain–without cheese or do I suck it up and eat the cheese–which is exactly what I did. Oops! Well, I have been upping my D3 and K2 for the last couple of weeks as well as using the mag more frequently, so we’ll see what happens. Really, it’s amazing how easy it is to slip up.
