Well, so much for my little experiment with goat milk yogurt. I only had to eat it once before a couple of little spots showed up on the inside calf of my left leg. Now, most people wouldn’t have even noticed them–or maybe thought they were mosquito bites–but I knew better:(
So I thought it would be a good opportunity to experiment on topical medications. I tried tar, cortisone–the old standbys– and those little spots didn’t budge. Now, they didn’t get worse but they stubbornly sat there, staring at me.
The next step was to increase my D3 and k2. I had been on a maintenance dosage for many months (about 10,000 iu D3 daily and about 200 mcg K2 mk7). I went back up to 25,000 iu of the D3 and 400+mcg of the K2 mk7). I also upped the number of times I used magnesium chloride topically (2-3 times a day). Within two days I could see the spots flattening and reducing in size.
This was good news because I have to admit that even though almost a year has passed since my psoriasis vanished, I still have that fear of it coming back. So, when I see that there is something I can do when spots start to reappear, I feel more in charge of the situation. I mean, I spent decades never knowing when or why I was going to be hit with a new flare up.
And that brings me to this little reminder. This isn’t a cure–it’s a remedy. You have to be persistent. And that can be daunting at times. But I think having clear skin makes it easier to stay with the protocol.
