Talk about the week of a thousand cuts! I have been in truck hell. A couple of weeks ago I bought a new battery (at great expense). But the truck was still slow to start. My neighbour (who knows a lot about trucks) said it was the alternator. So I ordered one.
Wrong. It wasn’t the alternator, it was the starting motor. So I had to send back the alternator and order a starter. Did I tell you my truck was 25 years old? It’s sometimes tricky to get the right parts. They sent the wrong starting motor.
When BCAA came to tow my truck to the garage, the driver turned West instead of East, missed my place, and never came back. So, when I phoned again it was going to be an hour and that would land me right in rush hour. I had to cancel until the next day.
Can you see the steam coming out of my ears?
But I got the truck back and it started just fine. I had to return the incorrect starter to the parts department (a half hour drive) and on the way back I smelled an odour that was unmistakable–overheating brakes. Yup. Now I have to get the front brakes done.
What has this got to do with this website and psoriasis? Well, last week the audio reading was about meditation as an antidote for agitation, confusion and fear. It took me a while to remember that, as I got seriously agitated a few times. And confused. And the cost of repairs=fear.
But I did meditate and IT HELPED!!
And now the weather has taken a turn for the worse–it actually snowed a bit this morning. Here’s how Lucky reacted when I called her to go for her morning walk.
She was not amused!
And here’s the next audio instalment of RISE + SHINE.
Have a creative week!
Much love from Dakota and her little dog, Lucky
